The Federal Government has directed the assessment of a plant-based cough mixture as a possible treatment for COVID-19.
According to a presidential spokesperson, Bashir Ahmed, in a tweet on Friday, the Nigerian government directed the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to carry out necessary procedures for the assessment of a plant-based cough mixture.
Ahmed, however, did not mention the name of the plant-based cough mixture said to be assessed.

“The Federal Government has directed the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to carry out necessary procedures for the assessment of a plant-based cough mixture as a possible treatment for COVID-19,” Presidential spokesman Bashir Ahmed tweeted.
