Internet Fraud: EFCC swoops on popular Lagos auto shop, seizes 29 cars

The Ibadan zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC on Thursday, March 28, 2019, arrested eight suspected internet fraudsters at Olopomewa, Eleyele and Ajadi, Ologuneru areas in Ibadan, the capital Oyo State.

In a statement on its website, the operatives stated it picked up the suspects following several months of discreet intelligence follow-ups and rigorous investigations into the suspects’ alleged clandestine fraudulent activities of obtaining money under false pretenses from their victims within the Ibadan axis of the South West zone of Nigeria.

The suspects, who are between 19 and 36 years of age are Olawale Jamal Ajao, Ominiyi Babatunde, Oluwasanmi Oluwaseun, Akinyemi Toheeb, Olawale Joel, Tayo Yusuf, Yusuf Babatunde, and Okolaba Emmanuel.

Some of the exhibits recovered from the suspects are phones, laptops, and some documents.

According to the Head of Operations, DCDS, Friday Ebelo, the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
