The Police spokesman in the state, Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this on behalf of Adesina Soyemi, the Commissioner of Police (CP).

“The CP has ordered for the transfer of the suspect to a safer location while intensive search for other escapees continues.

“The fugitive will be handed over to the appropriate authority for further action,” stated a statement by the Nasarawa police command on Saturday.

The police commissioner appealed to members of the public to help the police with useful information in case they saw others still on the run.

No fewer than 64 inmates with links to Boko Haram terrorists are on the run following Tuesday’s attack on the prison located in the nation’s capital, according to Defence Minister Bashir Magashi.

The federal capital Territory shares borders with four northern states.
