Prince Abiodun Akinboyede, a respected lawyer, and philanthropist from Ado-odo/Otta local government, Ogun State has expressed his intention to contest for the slot of the Ado-odo/Otta federal constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.
He will be contesting under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2019 elections.
Akinboyede who made the declaration on Wednesday at a press briefing in his law firm located in Otta said, apart from pressures from his cult-like followers and grassroots, the decision to contest was borne out of selfless desire to serve his people and community.
He said “it is high time people with genuine desire to serve came into politics to right the wrongs of the past at all level of governance.
The Awori prince, in a statement, noted that despite being the second largest industrial hub in Nigeria with rapidly growing population, Ado-odo/Otta Federal Constituency has over the years been unduly neglected by successive state and federal governments, especially in areas of infrastructural and physical developments.
“Ado-Odo/Otta federal constituency has over the years been unjustifiably neglected despite being Nigeria’s second largest industrial hub.
“With the huge presence of industries and its massive population, Ado-odo/Otta Federal Constituency has one of the worst road networks in Ogun State with over nonfunctional 100 link roads across the local governments.
“A proper representation is all it requires to have a performing government, hence the need for our people to vote for individuals who are capable and determined to serve selflessly,” he said.
Akinboyede said if elected as a member of the Federal House of Representatives, he will, through all-inclusive representation, ensure the revival of the failing industries, job creations and adequate infrastructures enough to serve the rapidly growing population in Ado-odo/Ota Federal Constituency.
Prince Abiodun Akinboyede is a multifaceted businessman, who understands the Nigerian business landscape, having lost and learned that losing is a prerequisite for attaining success. He is the CEO of two fledging companies, the Managing Partner of Adio Akinboyede & Company Law Offices.
Akinboyede, the Bamofin of Isheri Olofin had a brief sojourn into the politics of his community before he was ushered into the thick of politics in 1999 and was, through his diligence and commitment, appointed as the chairman of the National Youth Alliance under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His goal has always been to be a part of the solution to the problems of his constituency and Nigeria at large. A goal he believes will one day be matched with an opportunity.
