…says Atiku, Adebutu will win in landslide
The Ogun state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described governor Ibikunle Amosun’s government as the worst the state has had in recent times claiming that it has never been ‘so bad’ the way they are having it now.
The state’s PDP through its spokesperson also assured that the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the governorship candidate Hon. Ladi Adebutu, will have a landslide victory in the state in the coming 2019 general elections.
Giving this assurance in a chat with newsmen in the state recently was the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the State, Alhaji Malik Ibitoye.
Ibitoye stressed that it is no longer a secret that there has been no federal project in Ogun State since 2015 that the All Progressives Congress (APC) took over power at the federal level despite the fact that the party is ruling in the state.
He condemned Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State for alleged maladministration and accused him of not being sensitive to the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the state.
According to him, “Governor Ibikunle Amosun has not done well since he took over power in Ogun State in 2011. Rather he has bastardized the state with several abandoned projects, lack of infrastructure development and neglect of the education as well as the health sectors amongst others.
“This is the worst government the state has had in recent times and we have never had it so bad the way we are having it now. What we need now is a fresh blood away from the APC-led government, which is what the PDP is bringing to the table.
“The government of Hon. Ladi Adebutu will turn the situation of the state around for better from 2019, when he will take over as the Governor of our dear state.”
Ibitoye, who added that he would not deny that the issue surrounding the governorship candidate and other candidates of the PDP in the state is in a court of law, pointed out that the matter would soon be resolved and that Adebutu would be declared as the authentic governorship candidate of the party in the state.
The Publicity Secretary of the party in the state urged the supporters of the party to remain calm while awaiting the judgment of the court on the matter, and assured that the Nigerian judiciary is one of the best in the world.
Ibitoye emphasized that Adebutu, representing Ikenne /Shagamu/Remo Norrh Areas of the state in the Federal House of Representatives, and who doubles as the Chairman of the House Committee on Rural Development, is a man of ideas and initiatives that would bring rapid development to Ogun State.
He told the newsmen that Ladi Adebutu is the best thing to happen to Ogun State at this material time, adding that he is a visionary and compassionate politician.
On the Presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Ibitoye advised the people of the state not to “mortgage the future of the country” by voting for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
Ibitoye accused President Buhari of lacking in ideas and good policies that can move the country forward.
He stated that Alhaji Abubakar has performed well in business and that his achievements as the vice president of Nigeria stand him out in the country as the only man that can rescue her from her current economic quagmire.
“The APC and President Buhari have failed Nigeria. We cannot afford another four years of bad leadership. The people of Nigeria and Ogun State are suffering. We must liberate ourselves in 2019.
“I want to advise the people of Ogun State to rise to the occasion so that we can move this country forward or else what is happening now would be a child’s play if the APC should be allowed to continue to rule Nigeria after the forthcoming general elections,” he said.
