The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress has insisted on the disqualification of aspirants from primaries of 2019 elections saying no going back on disqualified aspirants.

A panel set up by the National Working Committee made this known despite pressure from Aisha Buhari, wife of the president; Ibikunle Amosun, governor of Ogun state; Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, among others.

Newsheadline247 understands the panel cleared those given automatic tickets. Among them is Shehu Sani, a senator representing Kaduna central.

The APC’s primaries across the states were reportedly marred with allegations of irregularities and illegal disqualification of aspirants.

Some aggrieved governors had rushed to the president following disqualification of their preferred aspirants.

Wife of the president, Aisha Buhari also expressed her disappointment over the way APC conducted its primaries.

She insisted the party was not fair to aspirants who partook in its primaries nationwide saying impunity happening under Oshiomhole

“It is disheartening to note that some aspirants used their hard earned money to purchase nomination forms, got screened, cleared and campaigned vigorously yet found their names omitted on Election Day, these forms were bought at exorbitant prices.

“Given this development one will not hesitate than DISSOCIATE from such unfairness, be neutral and speak for the voiceless.

“It is important for the populace to rise against impunity and for voters to demand from aspirants to be committed to the provision of basic amenities,” Aisha said.

Mahmoud Halilu, her brother, sought to contest in the governorship primary of Adamawa state but was disqualified while an automatic ticket was given to Jibrilla Bindow, the incumbent governor.

In Kaduna, while el-Rufai got the senatorial ticket, Uba Sani, his preferred candidate for Kaduna central senatorial district was disqualified.
