“Over 90 percent of funding expended on the programme was sourced from within”
The Central Planning Committee of the 2021 Iganmode Cultural Festival ably led by the Chairman, Aare Ayodele Bankole presents the general report of the just concluded Odun Omo Iganmode to our most Revered Royal, Olofin Apesin Olode, Olota of Otta, Awori Kingdom, His Majesty, Oba Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege on Sunday, 13th February 2022.
The Chairman seized the opportunity to thank all and sundry that contributed towards the success of the festival, most especially those that keyed into the first truly community-driven Odun Omo Iganmode. “Over 90% of funding expended on the programme was sourced from within”.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Prince Adeyemi Olusesi and made available to news headline247.
In the well detailed financial report, a total sum of N33,711,500.00 was generated for the Festival with N22,084,940.23 total expenditure. After making provision for bill outstanding, excess of income and expenditure for the year amounted to be #11,626,559.77.
However, the committee made available a huge sum of N10.5m targeting a Legacy Project that would be of great impact to the people of Otta Kingdom.
The Chairman said, “such projects could be drilling of boreholes for public use, intervention towards the completion of the ongoing Police Station project at Ita Court, Educational intervention among others, but subject to the authority and approval of Kabiyesi Olota. Also, #1m was reserved as a take-off for the next annual event.”
He equally thanked Olota, distinguished members of Olota-in-Council and Chiefs for the unflinching support rendered. He commended the sons and daughters of Otta in diaspora for the pivotal roles they played in ensuring a successful outing. The Chairman and his committee hoped that Odun Omo Iganmode would, in the nearest future, become a verifiable medium to mobilize & galvanize the citizens & resident Otta-Awori for community development projects.
Responding, Kabiyesi commended the Chairman and his team for the job well done, His Majesty equally appreciates the committee for the patriotic spirit exhibited during the period, and for being transparent throughout the period.
Concluding, Kabiyesi Olota reappointed the Otun Mayegun, Chief Ayodele Bankole as the Chairman of the 2022 edition of Odun Omo Iganmode based on his outstanding performance in tandem with our resolved goal of having a world-class celebration. “May Almighty God reward everyone that contributed towards the successful hosting of the 2021 edition”. In attendance at the presentation were, Otun Bobagunwa Otta, Chief Temitayo Idowu, Former Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Lawal FCA, Baamofin Otta, Hon. Akinpelu Aina, Iyalaje Otta, High Chief (Mrs) Abimbola Dada, the Majority Leader, Ogun state House of Assembly, Hon. Sheriff Yussuf Abiodun and Prince Adeyemi Sulaimon Olusesi.
