NAHCON has concluded accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj in Makkah and Madinah, meeting Saudi deadlines in line with Vice President Shettima’s directive
Nigeria Secures 2026 Hajj Accommodation Early as NAHCON Meets Saudi Timelines
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has successfully concluded accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj in Makkah and Madinah, meeting all deadlines set by Saudi Arabian authorities.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, disclosed this in a statement issued by his Technical Assistant (Media), Ahmad Muazu, noting that the accommodation uploads and approvals have been fully accepted by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
According to Usman, the timely completion of the process aligns strictly with the directive of Vice President Kashim Shettima, who had mandated that all critical Hajj logistics be finalised within approved Saudi timelines to protect Nigeria’s operational interests and avoid last-minute disruptions.
He acknowledged the Vice President’s consistent guidance and strategic support throughout the process, describing it as instrumental to the success recorded so far.
Professor Usman also commended the collective efforts of all stakeholders involved, including the high-level Nigerian delegation to Saudi Arabia, the NAHCON Board, the Nusuk Masar team, leadership of the Forum of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, NAHCON staff, and other relevant partners who worked to ensure the smooth completion of the accommodation process.
With this development, Nigeria has effectively secured its lodging requirements for the 2026 Hajj exercise and now ranks among countries that have fulfilled this critical obligation within the timelines prescribed by Saudi authorities.
The early completion, Usman noted, strengthens Nigeria’s preparedness and positions the country for a more seamless and well-coordinated Hajj operation in 2026. Read More
