Adamawa: Governor Fintiri Commends Dangote’s Timely Food Aid Initiative 

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has lauded Aliko Dangote’s nationwide food relief efforts, calling the philanthropist’s intervention both timely and fitting.

The Aliko Dangote Foundation’s National Food Intervention Programme is set to provide over one million Nigerians with 10kg bags of rice, including 35,000 beneficiaries across Adamawa’s 21 local government areas (LGAs).

The distribution kicked off in Yola, where Governor Fintiri, represented by Ibrahim Mijinyawa, the state Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, thanked the foundation for its support.

“This initiative has brought relief to 35,000 vulnerable people in Adamawa,” he said. “It’s a meaningful gesture, especially during these challenging times, and will touch many lives.”

He assured attendees that the rice would be shared equitably, with local council chairmen and religious leaders overseeing the process to ensure it reaches those in need.

Bello Danmusa, Group General Manager of Operations at Dangote Sugar Refinery in Numan, spoke on behalf of the foundation, emphasizing its commitment to easing economic hardships.

“We’re distributing 35,000 bags of rice in Adamawa as part of a broader humanitarian effort to support the most disadvantaged and vulnerable Nigerians,” he said. “This is about alleviating suffering and standing with society during tough times.”

“This aid couldn’t have come at a better moment,” he said, while urging local distribution committees to mirror the state’s transparent approach for a successful rollout.
