Former Finance Minister, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun who barely 24 hours resigned her appointment has reportedly travelled out of the country.
Newsheadline247 understands that Adeosun who was accused of forging National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate went to London after turbulent last days as a minister in Nigeria.
It was gathered that the Minister traveled, on Friday night, aboard British Airways via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to rejoin her family in the United Kingdom.
Adeosun resigned her appointment as Minister of Finance following pressure from the public over alleged forgery of NYSC exemption certificate making it the first time a public officer holder resigned over alleged misconduct.
Earlier on Friday, Adeosun worked at her office from 10:00a.m. till 11:00p.m.
It was learnt that she did not attend the 40th and mid-year Statutory Convergence Council meeting of Ministers of Finance and Governors of Central Banks of the West African Monitoring Zone held, in Abuja.
Instead, Adeosun asked the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mahmoud Isa Dutse to represent her at the meeting.
Adeosun’s last day as Finance Minister was very short as she only worked from morning till 11 pm before packing her belongings.
A prayer session was later held in her honour by members of staff of the ministry who wept as she stepped out of the office after the prayer.
Adeosun, after she submitted her resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari was immediately replaced with Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed in acting capacity.
