Ado-Odo/Ota LG Chairman Hails CP Abdul Lateef Ahmed’s Historic Rise as First Ota-born Police Commissioner

The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Commissioner of Police Abdul Lateef Ahmed, PhD, on his remarkable achievement and appointment as a Commissioner of Police in Nigeria.
In an official congratulatory statement issued by the council, Hon. Wasiu described the appointment as a monumental milestone not just for the accomplished officer, but also for the Ota Awori Kingdom and the entire Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
He noted that CP Abdul Lateef Ahmed’s elevation marks a historic first — being the first son of Ota Awori Kingdom to reach the prestigious rank within the Nigeria Police Force.
“This distinguished appointment is a testament to your hard work, dedication, and commitment to public service. We are immensely proud of your accomplishment, which brings honor and pride to our beloved town,” Lawal stated
The chairman praised the newly elevated Commissioner of Police for his exemplary leadership, integrity, and professionalism, describing him as an inspiration to the youth and a shining example of what perseverance and diligence can achieve.
He also expressed gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Abdul Kabir Obalanlege, the Olota of Ota, and all Awori Obas, for their unwavering guidance and support in nurturing great sons and daughters of the land who continue to distinguish themselves nationally and internationally.
