Ado-Odo/Ota LG Chairman Pledges Commitment to Transparency, Community Engagement
… As Hon. Gbadamosi Mutairu emerges leader of legislative arm
The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu has reaffirmed his dedication to transparency, accountability, and community engagement. Hon. Wasiu made these known during the swearing in ceremony for the newly elected Councillors of the Local Government, held on Monday, 25th November 2024, inside Council Secretariat at the legislative chamber.
“As we begin this new chapter, I want to assure the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area that we are committed to transparency, accountability, and community engagement. We will work tirelessly to ensure that our government is responsive to the needs of our citizens and that everyone has a voice in shaping our community’s future,” said Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu.
In his message to the Councillors, he advised them to, “Think deep to enact laws that will contribute to the development of the local government, formulate plans, strategize motions that can move the LG forward. Though we can not do without misunderstandings, let us settle it internally and amicably among ourselves.”
The programme was attended by distinguished guests, including the Senior Special Assistant to Governor of Ogun State, Hon. Kola Salako who represented Her Excellency, the Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Vice Chairman, Hon. Abosede Balogun, Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Junaid Babatunde FCA, APC chieftains and political gladiators like Commissioner Durojaye Aiyedogbon, Chief Jide Ojuko, Rahman Kola Salako, party chairman, Alhaji Jimoh Akeran and host of others.
The ceremony also saw the emergence of the newly elected executives of the 9th legislative council, which includes Hon. Gbadamosi Mutairu as Leader of the House, Hon. Lateef Oseni as Deputy Leader, Hon. Bankole Surajudeen as Majority Leader, and Hon. Noimot Balogun as Chief Whip.
The newly elected Leader of the Legislative arm, Hon. Gbadamosi Mutairu expressed his gratitude to Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Executive Chairman Alhaji Lawal Adewale Wasiu FCA, the Vice Chairman Hon. Mrs Abosede Balogun, Honourable members, the management team, all APC party chieftains, and other well-wishers for giving him a new beginning and other political leaders as he assumes office.
He pledged that the councillors would work tirelessly to drive development in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, ensuring that democracy’s benefits reach every corner of the local government.
