The nominees for the eighth Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) have been unveiled. Nollywood star actress, Funke Akindele bagged nine nominations, including Best actress, for her movie ‘Omo Ghetto’.

Izu Ojukwu’s historical drama ‘Amina’ was the highest nominated film, with 12 nominations in major categories, followed by Funke Akindele, JJC Skillz’ ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga’with 9 nominations, then Ramsey Nouah’s ‘Rattlesnake: “The Ahanna Story’ with 10 nominations.”

For this year’s award, the organizers introduced a new category ‘Best social media content creator’, which had the likes of Mr Macaroni, Sabinus, among the nominees.

An eight-day event will precede the main event slated for May 14, 2022.
