Asisat Oshoala Bids Farewell To F.C. Barcelona Femeni In Emotional Tribute
Africa Best Female Footballer and Super Falcons forward, Asisat Osoala has penned a farewell message to her former club, FC Barceona Femini @fcbfemeni following announcement of her new move to the Bay FC in the United States.
Barcelona, in a statement on Thursday, announced her departure.
Oshoala, the CAF Women’s Player of the Year, left the Spanish giants after an agreement has been reached between FC Barcelona and Bay FC from the National Women’s Soccer League in the United States of America for the transfer of Nigerian striker whose contract was set to end on 30 June 2024.
“The Club appreciates Asisat’s commitment and professionalism over the five-year period she wore the Barca jersey,” FC Barcelona stated in a release.
In a tribute message posted on her facebook page – AsisatOshoalaAgba, the prolific striker said she was filled with mixed emotions leaving the club adding that it has been an absolute honour to have donned the colours of the Catalonia giants for five years.
Oshoala who won 14 trophies as a Blaugrane in her five-year stint with the club said she values the relationships she built with some of her teammates, coaches, staff and the fans. “You have become my family and I will forever be grateful for the love and support you have shown me,” she stated.

As I bid farewell to this incredible team and the city that has been my home for the past 5 years, I am filled with mixed emotions. It has been an absolute honor and privilege to wear the @fcbfemeni jersey and represent this prestigious club.
Since joining the team in 2019, I have had the opportunity to be a part of some of the most memorable moments in the club’s history. Together, we have lifted several trophies and these achievements are a testament to hard work, dedication and I feel privileged to have been a part of this team.
But beyond the trophies and accolades, what I will cherish most are the relationships I have built with some of my teammates, coaches, staff and the amazing fans. You have become my family and I will forever be grateful for the love and support you have shown me.
As I embark on a new journey, I want you to know that @fcbfemeni will always hold a special place in my heart. I will carry with me the memories, lessons and friendships that I have gained during my time here.
