BUA Group has signed a major agreement with Bühler to develop a 32TPH rice processing line, strengthening Nigeria’s food security efforts and expanding the company’s agribusiness footprint

BUA Group Partners Bühler to Build 32TPH Rice Processing Line in Nigeria

BUA Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Bühler to build a 32 tonnes-per-hour (TPH) rice processing line, strengthening its push to scale up local rice production and expand Nigeria’s domestic food-processing capacity.

The agreement was signed on December 2, 2025, at BUA Group’s Middle East office in Dubai, with Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group, and Thomas Ogundiran, Managing Director of Bühler West Africa, formalising the deal.

The collaboration underscores BUA Group’s growing footprint in agribusiness and its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s food security agenda. Bühler — a global leader in advanced food-processing technology — will provide the expertise, machinery, and technical support required to deliver high-efficiency rice processing operations.

The 32TPH facility is expected to significantly boost domestic rice production, reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imports, improve food supply resilience, and create new jobs across the value chain. The agreement positions BUA Group as a major contributor to the region’s agricultural transformation and processing capacity.

Both companies described the partnership as a “milestone” in the ongoing effort to modernize Nigeria’s agribusiness infrastructure.

This development follows BUA Group’s signing of another major partnership on Monday, December 1, 2025 — a collaboration with Viteral Integrated Milling Systems to build a 40 tonnes-per-hour feed mill factory, further expanding the company’s investment in food production and allied industries.
