Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Year award
Three Super Eagles players have made the shortlist for this year’s AFCON Awards, scheduled to take place in Marrakesh, Morocco, in December.
Ademola Lookman is expectedly included among the nominees for the prestigious African Footballer of the Year award. He is joined by the captain of the Super Eagles, William Troost-Ekong. This announcement was made by CAF via their X handle.
There are currently 10 players shortlisted for this award, and the list will be reduced by half in the coming days before the final three are announced.
The other players in the elite category include Amine Gouiri from Algeria, Edmond Tapsoba from Burkina Faso, Simon Adingra from Côte d’Ivoire, Chancel Mbemba from Congo, Serhou Guirassy from Guinea, Achraf Hakimi and Soufiane Rahimi from Morocco, as well as Rowen Williams from South Africa. …More
Additionally, Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has been nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Year award.
