A Coalition of Anti-Corruption, Civil Society Organisations, CSOs has commended President Bola, Ahmed Tinubu for summoning requisite political to suspend Mr. Godwin , the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
The coalition said it is not only a forthright decision but , equally an imperative step towards re- jigging the nation’s parlours financial system .
The Coalition believes that the Emefiele Naira . Re- Designing policy is an act of Economic Sabotage. The puerile, , Ill- conceived policy disrupted the economy caused untold hardshipy on Nigeria working and toiling masses. More importantly despite, the huge amount spent on the re- designing exercise, the purported, new – Naira was never made available for Nigerians. Under , the watch of Emefiele, the economy witnessed the most criminal ” dollarisation “, which is responsible for the downward , spiral fall of the value of our national currency .
The Coalition called on the President to demonstrate requisite political – will to thoroughly probe , indict , prosecute and convict Godwin Emefiele for crimes against Nigerian people .
The Coalition equally asked President Tinubu to torchlight the activities of Nigeria National Petroleum Company, NNPC on the oil subsidy scam. It is rather ludicrous that while everybody , including international community have affirmed that a powerful criminal cabal is behind. ” oil- subsidy scam” in the country , yet nothing has been done by law enforcement agencies to apprehend those notorious cabal !
The Coalition noted that activities of NNPC under Kyari should be subjected to public probe to fish out anybody found indicted in the oil subsidy conspiracy.
Those who have enormously profited from oil subsidy at the detriment of the nation and people should be appropriately scrutinized with the aim of recovering the proceeds of the oil subsidy scam into our national treasury. The recovery oil subsidy funds should be deployed into the provisions of basic infrastructural facilities .
The coalition warns that any tardiness in tackling corruption by the new administration would adversely affect its aim of providing “Re-Assured Hope” for Nigerians. This is because if we don’t kill Corruption , Corruption will, Inevitably kill us .
