The Lagos State Government has confirmed nineteen new cases of COVID-19 which brings the total number of patients in the state to 254.

The State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, made this known via his Twitter page on Friday.

Abayomi said, “As of 16th April 2020, 19 new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed in Lagos State.

He said, “This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 Lagos cases to 254.

“5 fully recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged.”

“Total discharged #COVID19 patients are now 90. I urge you to keep observing #SocialDistancing and #StayHome to reduce the spread of #COVID19.”

Recall that the NCDC, on its verified Twitter account, on Thursday said it recorded 35 new cases of COVID-19.

NCDC said it recorded 19 in Lagos, 9 in FCT, 5 in Kano and 2 in Oyo State.
