A new wave of celebration is sweeping through Nigeria’s Afrobeats scene as multiple music heavyweights — Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Omah Lay — have been nominated for the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The Grammy shortlist, unveiled on Friday evening, features several Nigerian stars in the highly competitive Best African Music Performance category, highlighting the genre’s growing global influence.

Davido and Omah Lay’s hit collaboration, “With You,” earned them a joint nomination, while Burna Boy’s chart-topper “Love” also made the list. Ayra Starr teamed up with Wizkid on “Gimme Dat,” another contender for the coveted award.

  • Love – Burna Boy
  • With You – Davido and Omah Lay
  • Hope & Love – Eddy Kenzo & Mehran Matin
  • Gimme Dat – Ayra Starr and Wizkid

Meanwhile, Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy continues his streak with yet another nomination — this time for Best Global Music Album for his project “No Sign of Weakness.”
