Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Sunday welcomed global Afrobeats superstar Davido to the Government House, Yola, during the artist’s 5ive Alive Tour, celebrating the state’s growing profile and improved security.
In a statement released on X (formerly Twitter), Governor Fintiri described Davido’s visit as a reflection of his administration’s strides in transforming the state into a secure and vibrant destination for investment and entertainment.
“It was a pleasure to welcome the global star, Davido, to the Government House, Yola. We are particularly glad he chose Adamawa as a key stop on his five-state tour. His presence here underscores our progress and is a testament to our administration’s efforts toward enhancing security and advancing our urban renewal drive. We are honoured by his visit,” the governor stated.
Just hours after the courtesy visit, Davido headlined a sold-out concert at the 25,000-capacity Mahmud Ribadu Square, delivering one of the most electrifying performances of the 5ive Alive Tour so far.
The event also featured a surprise appearance by local influencer and former Big Brother Naija housemate Sultana Farida Auduson Ibrahim, who joined the audience in celebrating the Grammy-nominated singer.
Organisers described the Yola concert as “one of the tour’s most high-energy nights,” highlighting the warm reception from fans across the Northeast.
The Yola stop marks a major milestone in Davido’s ongoing five-state tour, which has already touched down in Akwa Ibom and is expected to continue across select Nigerian cities.
Observers say Davido’s visit and concert further position Adamawa as a rising hub for arts, culture, and tourism, underscoring the impact of Governor Fintiri’s administration in boosting security and youth engagement across the state. Read More
