The Yoruba Community in Switzerland is set for a grand cultural showcase as preparations peak for the 2025 edition of Yoruba Day, holding on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Geneva.

This year’s celebration will be headlined by the distinguished Royal Father of the occasion, His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, Ph.D. (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode, Olofin Apesin Olode), the Olota of the Ancient and Paramount Otta, Aworiland.

Kabiyesi has graciously accepted the community’s invitation, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to preserving Yoruba heritage across borders. His royal presence is expected to elevate the significance of the event and inspire renewed dedication to cultural identity within the diaspora.

“Yoruba Day in Switzerland provides a unique opportunity to celebrate our heritage, foster unity, and strengthen our connection to ancestral roots,” said Prince Adeyemi Sulaimon Olusesi (Omotobase of Ottaland), Principal Secretary to His Majesty. “The Olota’s attendance is a testament to his devotion to the promotion of Yoruba culture globally.”

The annual Yoruba Day in Switzerland has become a vibrant platform for showcasing the richness of Yoruba traditions, values, and history — ensuring they are preserved and passed down to future generations.
