The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has arrested 42 suspected internet fraudsters, otherwise known as ‘yahoo boys’.
Newshealine247 understands that the Ibadan Zonal office of the anti-graft agency had stormed Ilaro town, in Ogun State in the multiple raids of suspected cyber fraudulent individuals.
This is according to the EFCC Head of Media, Tony Orilade, who made this known in a statement on Friday.
Orilade disclosed that the operatives arrested the suspects at different locations in the ancient town of Ilaro, Ogun State after receiving intelligence on their alleged illegal activities.
Some of the items reportedly recovered from the suspects in the operation include eight exotic cars, mobile phones and laptops.
The agency said the suspects, who are between the ages of 18 and 33, would be charged to court after investigations were concluded.
