The United Kingdom says it is monitoring the probe of the allegations made against the proscribed Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) adding that the Lekki shootings must be investigated.
The UK also disclosed that it was working with stakeholders and had informed judicial panels set up by state governments to also look into incidents associated with #EndSARS nationwide protests.
SARS, a police unit established to combat armed robbery related cases has overtime been accused of multiple extrajudicial killings and human rights violations which consequently led to widespread peaceful protests across the country.

But peaceful demonstrations turned violent after the exercise was hijacked by hoodlums.
On Tuesday, October 20, military personnel stormed the Lekki tollgate, Lagos rally ground of the protests and opened fired at protesters which sparked nationwide and global condemnation.
The British government, on Monday, however, confirmed its interest in ongoing probes of the activities of the dissolved police unit.
It also expressed concern over civil unrest witnessed across the nation.
In a statement, the UK High Commission in Nigeria urged security operatives to act within the confines of the law.
The statement as posted on its official Twitter handle read “We remain concerned by acts of looting & violence in Nigeria & urge security services use restraint as order is restored.
“Working with all stakeholders, judicial panels of inquiry must investigate all incidents, including #Lekki, and ensure accountability for crimes. #EndPoliceBrutality.”
