The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) has conferred an honorary fellowship on the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel.
Otunba Daniel, a former governor of Ogun state, was honoured on Wednesday in Abuja.
At the conferment, NIOB president, Bldr. Prof. Yohana Izam, said the body decided to honour the engineer-turned-political based on his antecedents in the construction sector.
Prof. Izam enjoined Senator Daniel to continue to advance the cause of the built environment, particularly the pending passage of the National Building Code Bill by the National Assembly.
In his response, the former governor thanked the builders’ body, saying he doesn’t take the fellowship lightly. He pledged to support the body in whatever way they require.
Daniel stressed that he remains resolute that Nigeria has all the needed human and material assets to develop to world-class standards.
