Geregu Power Appoints Sean Manley as Interim CEO in Leadership Transition
Geregu Power Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Sean Manley as its Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective February 2, 2026, in a significant leadership transition at Nigeria’s listed power generation company.
The appointment is subject to regulatory approval by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and ratification by shareholders at the company’s next general meeting.
The development was disclosed to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the investing public in a corporate notice dated January 28, 2026.
Mr. Manley brings over three decades of experience in the global power sector, spanning sales, business development, project execution, supply-chain management, and OEM-led project delivery.
His career has been largely rooted in the thermal power segment, where he has been actively involved in plant construction, commissioning, major overhauls, and long-term operational support across multiple markets.
During his time at Siemens, Manley built extensive technical and operational expertise in large-scale power infrastructure projects, particularly within developing and emerging markets. He is widely recognised for his hands-on approach to problem-solving and his ability to deliver complex energy projects in challenging operating environments.
His professional competencies include the management of multi-million-dollar business units, execution of large and complex infrastructure projects, stakeholder and client relationship management, market and business development, as well as logistics and procurement analysis critical to efficient power project delivery.
In a statement, the Board of Geregu Power Plc expressed confidence that Manley’s international exposure, technical depth, and leadership capacity will support the company’s operational objectives and strategic priorities during the interim period.
