Gov. Sanwo-Olu Commits to Enhanced Welfare, Democratic Benefits for Lagos Residents
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the welfare of citizens, promising that Lagosians will receive the full benefits of democracy through strategic collaboration with the federal government.
Speaking at the 25th annual Lagos State Thanksgiving Service, themed “Harvest of Thanksgiving,” held at Tafawa Balewa Square yesterday, Sanwo-Olu highlighted the achievements made in 2024, which he attributed to the bold policies implemented by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He stated, “These policies have led to significant growth across various sectors, positioning Nigeria positively on the global stage and attracting increased foreign direct investment. We are committed to maintaining this momentum into the New Year.”
The governor outlined key priorities for the coming year, including ensuring reliable and affordable electricity in Lagos state and conducting local government elections. He reassured residents that his administration would continue to work closely with the state legislature and other stakeholders to achieve these goals.
Sanwo-Olu also called on residents to embrace a spirit of gratitude. “We must thank God for our individual progress and the collective development of Lagos State. This thanksgiving is a reminder of how far we’ve come and the bright future ahead.”
Ibrahim Layode, the state’s Commissioner for Home Affairs, echoed the governor’s sentiments, urging residents to approach their “harvest of thanksgiving” with diligence and a positive mindset.
