The Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, has reportedly resigned from his position.

The reasons behind Abubakar’s sudden departure, however, are still unclear, sparking speculation about the circumstances surrounding his exit.

Abubakar, who was appointed NIA DG by the immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2018, has been at the helm of the agency for over five years.
