The police in Lagos State have sealed off the venue of a symposium where Wole Soyinka, Nobel laureate, and other speakers were to address the state of insecurity in Nigeria.

The programme with theme: “Democracy, State Repression and the State of insecurity in Nigeria,” is organised by a group known as Coalition for Revolution (CORE).

The event was billed to hold at 46, Ibijoke street, Oluyole bus-stop, Oregun, Lagos State.

Newsheadline247 understands police vans on Monday morning were strategically positioned around the venue of the symposium.

Reports flittering did not, however, indicate any confrontation between the organisers and the police.
