Prominent public commentator and critic, Farooq Kperogi, has said it is an act of “invidious injustice” by the Nigerian government to pamper and reintegrate villainous members of Boko Haram terrorists while the ‘surviving victims of their villainy remain disintegrated and punished.’
This is coming following a circulated picture showing some repentant Boko Haram members who were said to have been rehabilitated.
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) announced on Saturday that 601 repentant Boko Haram members have been rehabilitated in Gombe state.
According to the coordinator of Operation Safe Corridor, an initiative for the deradicalisation and rehabilitation of ex-Boko Haram members, Bamidele Shafa, the repentant members of the terrorist group graduated from the de-radicalisation, rehabilitation and reintegration (DRR) camp in Mallam Sidi, Gombe.

@farooqkperogi, however, in his reaction to a trending picture of the rehabilitation centre for the former members of the terrorist group, said the photo never ceases to sadden him.
“This photo never ceases to sadden me. Villainous Boko Haram terrorists are pampered and “reintegrated” while the surviving victims of their villainy remain disintegrated and punished by a gov’t that swore to protect but failed them. Invidious injustice can’t be starker than this,” Kperogi tweeted.
