Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, on Thursday, joined #EndSARS protesters and led them to the police headquarters in Ilorin, the state capital.

The governor, who was surrounded by residents, said the people need to be protected at all times.

Reports said his security aides tried to restrict access to the number one citizen in the state, but some individuals in the crowd beat the security shield to reach him.

Governor Abdulrasaq’s outing with protesters was reported shortly after a teleconference of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).

The forum of the Nigerian governors had told the inspector-general of police, Mohammed Adamu to fish out the policemen who killed protesters.

Nigerians took to the streets in nationwide protests over police brutality especially by men of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS).

The during the protests in which they are demanding an end to police brutality, some of the protesters, however, clashed with security operatives, leading to the loss of lives and several injured.

Amnesty International, however, put at 10 the deaths recorded during the protests.
