From African festival stages to iconic international venues, Nigerian artistes are making 2026 a landmark year for Afrobeats on the global stage. The momentum underscores both the genre’s growth and the rising global influence of Nigerian music.

Leading the charge is Temilade ‘Tems’ Openiyi, set to co-headline the opening night of All Points East alongside British singer Jorja Smith on August 21 at London’s Victoria Park.

Curated by Smith and her label, FAMM, the festival lineup highlights Afrobeats’ expanding appeal, with rising star Ayra Starr also performing. Tems’ appearance builds on her international acclaim, driven by her debut album Born in the Wild and Grammy-winning hit Love Me Jeje.

Ahead of Tems’ performance, Afrobeats heavyweight Davido will headline ‘Davido & Friends’ at Crystal Palace Bowl, London, on August 14, returning to England after his sold-out O2 Arena show two years ago. The venue, which has hosted legends like Bob Marley and Pink Floyd, sets the stage for a historic night celebrating Afrobeats’ global footprint.

Meanwhile, Wizkid, Starboy’s founder, will headline Afro Nation, the world’s largest Afrobeats festival, from July 3 to 5, cementing his place as a leading global ambassador of Nigerian music.

Emerging voices are also stepping onto international stages. Nigerian pop artist Folarin Odunlami (Fola) is preparing for his first Canadian tour, titled Catharsis Live Tour, in July, with prior performances in London, Birmingham, and Dublin aimed at reaching a wider North American audience.

Street-pop sensation Zlatan will hit multiple UK cities—including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Dublin—on his ‘Zlatan Live in Concert’ tour, featuring a live band and deepening his connection with diaspora fans.

Rounding out the lineup, Afrobeats producer and singer Young Jonn is set to headline OVO Arena Wembley on September 25, 2026, showcasing the genre’s continued dominance on the world stage.

With Nigerian artistes headlining major festivals and selling out iconic venues, 2026 promises to be a defining year for Afrobeats, as the country’s music continues its unstoppable global rise.
