According to the United States Open Doors Report, Nigerian students make up only two percent of the total number of international students studying in the United States.
However, the report also reveals that the number of Nigerian students has increased by 12.3 percent, reaching a total of 14,438 during the 2021/2022 academic session.
The report further shows that China and India are the top countries that send students to the U.S, accounting for 52 percent of international students.
Nigeria is ranked as the 10th largest country in the world in terms of international students studying in the U.S.
This indicates the growing interest of Nigerian students to pursue academic opportunities in the United States.
