The players are in high spirit. They have drawn strength from the hard-fought win over Crown FC
Gateway United FC head coach, Hakeem Busari says his side is poised to pick away points ahead of their 2020/21 Nigeria National League (NNL) week 3-midweek encounter against J Atete.
The Ogun State-based team are presently placed 10th with 3 points in group B2, Southern Conference as they face table-toppers J Atete who are on 4 points on Wednesday 24th February 2021 at Otujeremi stadium in Ughelli.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, in a brief made available to newsheadline247 by Moses Ojewunmi, Media Officer, Gateway United FC, Coach Busari said his boys are well poised to ensure a decent outing in Ughelli.
“We will leave nothing to chance. The players are in high spirit. They have drawn strength from the hard-fought win over Crown FC on Saturday, and this is just one of the positives ahead of the match. Like I said on Saturday, it’s a marathon, but we are not conceited by that because every point counts. On matchday 2, two away victories were recorded, that could just be a pointer to new dawn this season”
“We are hopeful. The technical crew has been up and doing, preparing the players mentally and physically. No doubt, J Atete is a good team, they have won one and drawn away, but we are battle ready for them,” Busari said.
J Atete defeated Abia Comets 2-1 in their season opener and drew against Holy Arrows in Delta.
J Atete versus Gateway United clash comes at 4 pm at Otujeremi Stadium, Delta State tomorrow Wednesday 24th February 2021.
