The reports about Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu being involved in some alleged fraud dealings within the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is not true, newsheadline247 exclusively gathered that ‘the scandalous story was based on mere unproven allegations that were placed before the Economic and Financial Fraud Commission (EFCC).’
Newsheadline247 understands the unfounded allegations placed before EFCC were thoroughly investigated and subsequently discarded when they were discovered not to have any link with the minister. Information made available to newsheadline247 through a letter from the Honourable Minister’s lawyer, Mike Ozekhome categorically stated that the minister was not removed from NNPC as Group Managing Director on basis of the alleged unproven report as stated in a false story.

The letter also clearly stated that, “Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, a well respected technocrat, lawyer and energy expert has an unblemished record of ‘high integrity and uncommon performance’ both in his professional career and in his current position as Minister of Petroleum Resources.
“Anyone familiar with the records of Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu’s record of high performance and integrity both in his professional career and his current position can confirm that he cannot be a party to this scurrilous allegations made in those reports.”
The former OPEC and Gas Exporting Countries Forum President who is also the current Chairman of the NNPC Board served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Exxon Mobil Nigeria for 15 years with astonishing track records.
