Kano Pillars lost to Jigawa Golden Stars 0-1 in a Northwest derby in one of the Week 28 matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) played across deferent centres in the country on Sunday.
The defeat saw the Sai Masu Gida dropped from the second position on the table to third while another Northern team, Nasarawa United that held Enyimba to a goalless draw in Aba now occupy the second spot
Rivers United sit in the fourth position as they piped Katsina United 1-0 in Port Harcourt, Kwara United that lost 2-nill to Lobi Stars are fifth while the People’s Elephant, Enyimba FC maintain the sixth position
On the bottom half of the table, FC Ifeanyi Ubah are leading the pack in number 17 as they saw off Heathland FC 2-1 in an Oriental derby, Sunshine Stars of Akure also swap the 19th position with Warri Wolves as they beat Abia Warriors 2-1 in Akure.
Warri Wolves lost 2-nill to Plateau United in Jos and Dakkada FC settled for a 1-all draw at home to Rangers International of Enugu.
The League leaders, Akwa United had earlier on Saturday consolidated on their position as they defeated the bottom Club 2-0 in Uyo
The last match in the series, MFM vs Wikki Tourists could not go on yesterday in Lagos due to a heavy downpour, the game will be played this morning at the Agege Township Stadium
