Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State, on Tuesday, warned that any move by the opposition to manipulate results of the forthcoming election will come to nothing.

Isiaka who maintained that results of the forthcoming election will be a true reflection of the people’s choice gave the warning during his campaign tour of Moloki-Asipa and other wards in Obafemi Owode local government area of the State.

In a statement made available to newsheadline247, the two-time governorship candidate said the rumours that the elections will be rigged by the opposition is “laughable and impossible”, insisting that his party, ADC will oust the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State.

He said “I am aware they are saying the coming election will be rigged. It is quite laughable really. I can’t even begin to dignify such claims with any serious thought because I am sure it can not work. I can tell you categorically no opposition can upturn this election with what is on ground. We have the full support of the people and and they will surely stand by their votes”

Continuing, Isiaka said “It is not possible for us to be working day and night, taking our campaign to all corners of the state, and someone somewhere will believe they can alter things. No, that cannot happen in our own Ogun State. We will win and we shall win convincingly.”

In the meantime, the governorship hopeful promised to bring governance closer to the people by empowering local governments to function with considerable degree of operational autonomy.

Describing the infrastructural development in the area and by extension Obafemi Owode local government as abysmal, GNI as fondly called said his government, if elected,  will right the wrongs of the current administration in the State.

“Having been to this area more than twice now,  I can say for sure that infrastructure here is poor.  Our roads are bad. I can say the same of electricity,  water, proper health care and others.  While the government can not truly do everything for the people, ours will ensure that people are given access to a meaningful life, where abundance is assured.

“We are not going to tell you that we would do everything.  That is not our own style. We don’t make empty promises, but you can hold us accountable to our words. Whatever we say we shall do when we get to government, we would do.” he submitted.”
