Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, the candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the March 9th governorship election in Ogun State, has announced his intention to challenge the Appeal Court judgement which dismissed his suit and affirmed the victory of the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
Akinlade, the preferred candidate of the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, told his supporters across the state that he was sure of victory at the Supreme Court.
Akinlade, a former federal lawmaker who dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress for APM after he failed to win the party’s governorship ticket in the run-up to the election, also urged his supporters to remain calm and resolute as his party is set to take his case to the Supreme court.

The Appeal Court sitting in Ibadan the Oyo State capital had on Monday, November 11, 2019, dismissed Akinlade’s appeal.
The court in Ibadan upheld the September 14 judgment of the Ogun State governorship election petitions tribunal adding that the appeal lacks merit and it thereby stands by the decision of the lower tribunal.
