The community is mourning the loss of Pa Cornelius Olaore Ogunseye, a cherished former principal of Iganmode Grammar School in Ota, Ogun State, who has passed away at the age of 91.
The late Chief Ogunseye, recognized as the Asiwaju Bobajiro of Ota, was a prominent figure in education.
Known for his visionary approach, Chief Ogunseye introduced progressive ideas that prioritized students and their curriculum, laying a solid foundation that propelled Iganmode Grammar School to become one of Nigeria’s leading institutions in academic excellence.
During his tenure, Iganmode Grammar School achieved remarkable success, winning consecutive National Junior Engineers and Scientists (JETs) accolades, along with numerous awards in both academic and sports competitions at state and national levels.
His leadership attracted children from prominent Nigerian families within Ogun State and beyond, and the school has continued to uphold its high standards to this day.
In addition to his educational contributions, Chief Ogunseye was actively involved in the community, serving as an elder and for many years as the President of the YMCA society in the Cathedral.
Retiring in 1993, he enjoyed a peaceful Christian life with his beloved wife, Madam O.O. Ogunseye. He is survived by his wife and children.
