A two-term member of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Nurudeen Aina Akinpelu has expressed joy over the outcome of the verdict of the state election tribunal confirming the mandate of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The tribunal had on Saturday struck out the petition of Adekunle Akinlade, governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the state, challenging the victory of Governor Abiodun, candidate of the All Progressives Congress candidate (APC).
In affirming Abiodun’s victory, the tribunal declared that the petitioner, Hon. Akinlade of the APM, the preferred candidate of the immediate past Gov. Ibikunle Amosun, “did not only failed but also irredeemably failed to prove” his case against Abiodun of the APC.

The tribunal, however, in a unanimous judgement, declared that the petition lacked merit.
Hon. Aina in his reaction to the verdict of the tribunal said: “it is victory for genuine democrats and the people of Ogun State, a victory over all forms of political intimidation, oppression and absolute victory of good over evil.”
Hon. Aina who represented Ota State Constituency in the state house of assembly from 2011 to 2019, however, called on the good people of Ogun State to support the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun to resolve inherited multiple challenges confronting the state.
He added that governor Abiodun will fulfil his campaign promises and as well submit himself to the will of the people of Ogun State.
