Olota of Otta, Prof. Adeyemi Obalanlege, Officially Hands Over 50 Acres of Land to Nigerian Navy
On Monday, March 3rd, 2025, the Olota of Otta, Oba (Prof.) Adeyemi Obalanlege (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode), formally handed over 50 acres of land to the Nigerian Navy.
The official handover took place at Ipeti Royal Square, Olota’s Palace, where all necessary documentation and deeds of gift were signed, officially transferring ownership of the land to the Nigerian Navy. The delegation was led by Benjamin Onalo, Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Ship QUORRA.
In his remarks, Commodore Onalo expressed profound gratitude to His Majesty, the royal family, and the host community, assuring them that the land would be used judiciously. He emphasized that this collaboration would enhance security and further strengthen the long-standing relationship between the Nigerian Navy and the Kingdom.
On behalf of the royal family, Alhaji Tajudeen Aina thanked His Majesty for his fatherly support and visionary leadership. He also pledged the family’s commitment to upholding the bond fostered by the Olota.
In response, His Majesty commended the Navy’s dedication to national stability, particularly its efforts to enhance security within the Kingdom. He reaffirmed his continuous support for the Nigerian Navy and its operations.
Joining His Majesty in receiving the delegation were High Chief Olarenwaju Abayomi Taofeek Bashorun (Seriki of Ota), Baale Muyideen Shitu (Baale of Omitoro Obaode), and other key family members.
