Operatives of the Ondo State Amotekun Corps on Tuesday seized about 300 cows for flouting the state’s anti-open grazing law.

There was heavy vehicular traffic along the Oyemekun-Oba Adesida road up to Alagbaka on Tuesday morning as men of the Amotekun Corps conveyed the seized cows to their headquarters.

Similarly, the State security network had earlier on Sunday seized over 100 cows along the Akure-Ilesha highway for violating the State government directives on open grazing and use of underage herders.

The State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, had in January, banned open, night and under-age grazing in the State as parts of measures to quash the prevailing security in the State.

Newsheadline247 understands that despite the order, the herders refused to vacate the forest reserves, a development which prompted the Amotekun Corps to swing into action to flush them of the forest reserves.
