Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has put to rest speculations of a rift with teammate Ademola Lookman, declaring that the Atalanta forward remains his “brother” despite a brief on-field disagreement.

The two Nigerian stars were seen exchanging heated words during Nigeria’s 2–0 victory over Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final on Saturday, sparking widespread reactions among fans.

However, speaking after the match in an interview with Canal+, Osimhen dismissed any notion of bad blood, describing the incident as nothing more than a football misunderstanding.

“Lookman is my brother. What happened was just a misunderstanding, but you know, this is football,” Osimhen said.
“There is nothing to say about my brother. We are very close on the field.”
