Former Trabzonspor coach Sadi Tekelioğlu has rated Victor Osimhen ahead of Paul Onuachu, describing the Galatasaray striker as the most dangerous player currently plying his trade in Turkey.
Tekelioğlu made the remarks ahead of Saturday’s Turkish Süper Lig clash between Trabzonspor and Galatasaray at Papara Park.
According to him, Osimhen’s absence would hand a significant advantage to Trabzonspor, while Galatasaray would be less affected if Onuachu were unavailable.
“Osimhen’s absence is a big advantage for Trabzonspor, but I can’t say the same for Galatasaray regarding Onuachu. They will fill that gap,” he said.
He further stressed that Osimhen’s impact on Galatasaray is far greater, insisting there is currently no player in the Turkish league who poses a bigger threat.
“There’s no more dangerous player than Osimhen in Turkey right now,” Tekelioğlu added.
Both forwards are key members of Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles, and have enjoyed impressive campaigns in Turkey this season.
While Osimhen has netted 12 goals for Galatasaray, Onuachu has been even more prolific in front of goal, scoring 21 times for Trabzonspor.
Despite Onuachu’s higher goal tally, Tekelioğlu’s assessment underscores Osimhen’s overall influence and game-changing ability in the Turkish top flight.
