Oba Samuel Afolabi, the Onilua of Ilua in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State is dead.

The monarch from Oko-Ogun part of the sate was believed to be the oldest traditional ruler in the state until his death.

Oba Afolabi reportedly passed on in the early hours of Saturday after a brief illness related to old age ailments.

He was said to be 141 years old.

The late monarch, according to reports, was born to the Afolabi family in 1879 in the ancient town of Ilua and became the traditional ruler in 1981 at the age of 102.

Newsheadline247 understands the late Oba Afolabi was a commercial farmer at Arigidana, Baba Ode, Igbo Ijaiye in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of the state before his coronation as Onilua of Ilualand 38 years ago.
