Nollywood star actress, Iyabo Ojo, has rebuked individuals pestering Omowunmi, the widow of late singer, Ilerioluwa Promise Aloba, aka Mohbad, to get her son tested for DNA to establish his paternity.

As fans and lovers of Mohbad persist in their demand for justice from the authorities over the singer’s ‘suspicious’ death, several postulations and narratives about DNA have continued to pop up online.

Recently, the call for a DNA test on Mohbad’s son emerged and has kept rocking the internet.

On Monday, September 25, a clip of Larry Omodia, the CEO of African Television, surfaced online, urging Mohbad’s wife to conduct a DNA test on her son to confirm his paternity.

He pledged to provide an amount of N10 million to support Mohbad’s widow for an ‘all-expense paid’ DNA test if she agreed.

Omodia believed Omowunmi’s consent to have a paternity test performed on her son would end all weighty accusations made against her and, most importantly, vindicate her name.

However, Iyabo Ojo has disapproved of the continuous demand for a DNA test on the son of the sorrowing singer’s wife.

She termed the call for a DNA test as a distraction and insensitive, insisting it was not society’s place to request that from the deceased’s family.

She said: “All these distractions of DNA test, you people should please allow Mohbad’s family to mourn.

“If Mohbad’s parents want a DNA test, they can request it. You and I don’t have the right to tell them to do a DNA test.

“Mohbad never told anyone that his son wasn’t his son. But if the officers investigating his death feel there is a need to conduct a DNA test, they will. We need to be very sensitive, please. Why are you guys bullying the poor lady? Leave her alone.”
