As the Ramadan fast kicks off today, the Akogun Adini of Yewaland and frontline senatorial aspirant for Ogun West district in the forthcoming general elections, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, have called on Muslim Faithfuls to pray for the peace and progress of the country at this time.
In a press release from his media office to herald the annual Ramadan fasting season, GNI said that besides imbibing purity, which is good for the soul and spirit of individuals, what is again paramount to all citizens at this time our peace, security and progress.
The statement reads in parts: “In the name of Almighty Allah (SWT), I welcome all Muslim Faithfuls to this holy month. Nigeria is in one of it’s most challenging period in history. The scourge of insecurity continues to bite harder despite all effort to curtail it”.
“Where there is no adequate security, economic growth is also affected in one way or the other; such as we are witnessing today. I sincerely urge all Faithfuls and Nigerians in general to dedicate this month to pray for the peace and progress of our nation”.
He added, ” Prayers can never be too much because we have no two countries and we cannot allow bandits and terrorists determine our living”.
GNI also called on the federal government and all security agencies not to relent in their effort to combat the menace.
