The appointment of Stella Okotete to the position of the Executive Director, Business Development of NEXIM Bank got to many people as an opportunity for her to prove that ‘what a man can do a woman can do better’ as the saying goes.

The issue of performance can probably be a matter for another day as Stella was alleged to have grown wings and has more or less become a terror to the staff of the bank.

The teeming staff of the bank are reportedly worried over the purported arrogance of the woman, who we gathered has turned herself to a tin-god with the way she treats her subordinates in the financial institution.

Those who know much about the development revealed that Stella acts as if there is no tomorrow, and that she enjoys lording it over the staff of the organization ‘as if the company solely belongs to her.’

She is said to enjoy creating fear in the minds of her subordinates and customers of the bank despite the consequences of this on the development of the bank.

Insiders in the bank insisted that the dark-complexioned lady loves to instill fear in the hearts of customers and staff of the bank and watch them tremble with fear at her plots.

Some sources loyal to the woman however, dismissed the claims and argued that the allegations were “figments of imagination of her detractors and lazy workers.”

This notwithstanding, staff of NEXIM Bank lamented the woman’s alleged malevolence in handling the affairs of the bank.

According to them, “Mess around with her at your own peril. If there is an angel in Stella, only her daughter, enjoys the good pleasure of her (the angel)’s company.”

Staff of NEXIM alleged further that Stella looms large and is quite domineering like the legendary Cleopatra.

Cleopatra VII Philopator, known to history simply as Cleopatra, was the last active Pharaoh of Ptolemaic Egypt and in her wake, an immense cache of literature celebrating at once, her notoriety and loveliness, captivates the world, even as you read.

Staff of the bank maintained that Stella has become uncontrollable and that her kind of power intoxication has been taken to another level.

They alleged further that Stella has destroyed what is left of the camaraderie and e spirits-de-corps that hitherto existed in the bank, adding that she throws caution to the wind at the slightest provocation.

“Her influence is so overwhelming that even official members of staff of the bank tremble at her sight as she brooks no disrespect or dissent from any one, no matter how highly placed he or she may be. “Her word is law as senior managers at the bank fall over each other to pay homage to her, while she flaunts her influence and expensive wardrobe of trendy robes and jewelries not hitherto seen on her,” said a source.

We were reliably informed that many worship the ground Stella treads on while praying and hoping that they don’t incur her wrath because her word is law.

It was alleged that Stella’s influence at NEXIM Bank might not be unconnected with the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, with whom she reportedly shares a close relationship.

We gathered that the Urhobo, Delta State-born woman began her political journey years back when she was elected as a councillor in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Unconfirmed report has it that her marriage has given way due to some differences with which her husband could not reconcile.

Stella, who doubles as the CEO of ExtremeDay Spa Ltd and President of E’ Girls Right Foundation, allegedly told those close to her that she was enjoying the show and that she vowed to deal with whoever crosses her path amongst her subordinates.
