Tinubu Orders Security Overhaul, Declares “Enough is Enough” on Killings

President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to decisively address Nigeria’s escalating insecurity, ordering a comprehensive overhaul of the nation’s security strategy. Speaking at a meeting with service chiefs on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu expressed frustration, stating, “Enough is enough.”

The directive, detailed in a statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, follows recent killings in Borno, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara states. National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, addressing State House Correspondents post-meeting, revealed that Tinubu mandated a new approach to tackling insecurity nationwide.

Ribadu noted that the President, even while on official visits to Paris and London, remained engaged, issuing instructions to security agencies. “Today’s briefing was exhaustive, lasting hours,” Ribadu said. “The President is deeply concerned and directed us to work closely with governors, local governments, and communities to address challenges, particularly those rooted in community issues.”
