Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), working in close coordination with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have intercepted two pick-up vans loaded with logistics supplies suspected to be destined for Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State.
The operation followed credible human intelligence (HUMINT) which alerted military headquarters to the movement of the consignments from Dapchi in Yobe State toward the Magumeri axis of Borno. Acting swiftly on the intelligence, troops tactically deployed along the identified route and successfully intercepted the vehicles.
According to a statement issued on December 19, 2025, by the Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East), Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, a wide range of logistics items were recovered during the operation.
The seized items include two civilian vehicles, 31 spare tyres, 23 spare rims, two bicycles, 12 ignition key starters, three alternators, and two bags of flour. Other items recovered were one mattress, five bags of charcoal, 34 tubers of yam, two blankets, two nylons of garri, assorted adult and children’s clothing, one power bank, six mobile phones, and cash of various denominations.
The drivers conveying the items, alongside the recovered materials, are currently in military custody and undergoing interrogation to determine their level of involvement and to aid ongoing counter-terrorism investigations.
The successful interception, the military said, highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-led operations and the importance of sustained collaboration between troops and local security partners in disrupting terrorist logistics and supply networks.
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed their commitment to denying terrorists freedom of movement, cutting off their supply chains, and ensuring the safety and security of law-abiding citizens across the North-East.
