Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s trajectory, asserting that the country is making steady progress despite ongoing challenges.

Speaking during a recent interview on Wazobia TV, the award-winning singer said Nigeria is in a better position today than it was in previous years, urging citizens to acknowledge gradual improvements.

“We are better off than many years ago. Just look at it. It’s still ongoing,” he said, noting that while the nation still faces hurdles, positive strides cannot be ignored.

On his involvement in politics, 2Baba disclosed that he had previously supported a political campaign in a neutral capacity and intends to continue contributing to national development in his own way.

The singer described himself as a “self-appointed ambassador” of Nigeria, committed to promoting the country’s image globally through his music and personal engagements.

“I will continue doing it. I will set up my own position and try to make a difference. I know where I stand… I have personally appointed myself as an ambassador of Nigeria everywhere,” he added.

His remarks come amid renewed conversations about Nigeria’s socio-political climate, with some critics referencing his classic track, E Be Like Say, as still reflective of current realities.
